THIS SAFE IS BADLY MISREPRESENTED AND DEFECTIVESep 24, 2008 WE RECEIVED THE X055 BUT IT HAD NO OVERRIDE KEY IN THE PACKAGE. WHEN WE CONTACTED THE COMPANY THEY JUST GAVE US A RUNAROUND.
THERE IS NO REMOVABLE SHELF IN THE SAFE WE GOT ALTHOUGH IT SAYS THERE IS IN THE AD.
WE ALSO TRIED TO CONTACT THE FAMILY THAT OWNS THE COMPANY THAT MAKES THE SAFE (JIM & DOUG BRUSH) AT THE PLANT IN ROCHESTER NY, BUT SO FAR NO HELP.
I'D SAVE MY MONEY NEXT TIME AND BUY ANOTHER SAFE.
KatAug 27, 2008 SentrySafe Security Safe, 0.5 Cubic Feet, Black, #X055
I am very happy with this small safe. It is much heavier than I anticipated and very well constructed. The interior space is perfect for documents, jewelry or other small valuable items. Highly recommend for household use.

A very nice little safeApr 02, 2008 I originally purchased the Honeywell 0.6 Cubic Foot safe, but returned it because the locking mechanism was junk. The Sentry is more expensive, but much better constructed and looks nicer, too. Also, unlike the Honeywell, you don't need to use a key in addition to the combination lock when you open the safe. Just enter your combination and turn the latch. There is an emergency override key that only needs to be used if the batteries go dead. The safe is pre-drilled so it can be bolted from the bottom or back (or both). Due to its small size, this safe should definitely be bolted to something -- it would be way too easy for someone to carry off.
