The handsome York Pedestal is inspired by a baroque stand for garden statuary in an early 18th-century book of English and French garden designs held in Colonial Williamsburg's collections. When the original design was engraved, such pedestals might have showed off a piece of sculpture brought home from the Grand Tour or a prized piece of Chinese porcelain. Today Global Views can supply the gorgeous vase or sculpture, offering the look of treasures from afar - without the travel fatigue.
